Fourteenth Report (Third Series) of the Committee on the Climate of Devon.

Trans. Devon Assoc., 1896, Vol XXVIII, pp. 103-109.

by

Alfred Chandler, F.R. Met. Soc., Honorary Secretary.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was presented at the Association’s July 1896 Ashburton meeting. A numerically diminished Committee had collected and tabulated an abstract of meteorological observations taken in the preceding year. These related to rainfall, temperature, humidity, and cloud. This index provides a record of the observer team that participated in the project and identifies their observation stations. The following stations had this year been added to the previous year’s list; Rousdon Observatory, Salcombe (Prawle Point), and Tavistock. Returns for the year were again submitted for Princetown, but for only the last four months of the year. The Report, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
