Fifteenth Report (Third Series) of the Committee on the Climate of Devon.

Trans. Devon Assoc., 1897, Vol XXIX, pp. 72-78.

by

Alfred Chandler, F.R. Met. Soc., Honorary Secretary.

Prepared by Michael Steer

The Report was presented at the Association’s July 1897 Kingsbridge meeting. A numerically diminished Committee had collected and tabulated an abstract of meteorological observations taken in the preceding year. These were related to rainfall, temperature, humidity, and cloud. This index provides a record of the observer team that participated in the project and identifies their observation stations. The station at Woolacombe Bay, and Rainfall at Newton Abbot, have this year been added to the previous list, with the omission of Brampford Speke. The sudden illness of the Honorary Secretary, Mr. A. Chandler, F.R.Met.Soc., prevented presentation of a more elaborate Report.
The Report, from a copy of a rare journal can be downloaded from the Internet Archive. Google has sponsored the digitisation of books from several libraries. These books, on which copyright has expired, are available for free educational and research use, both as individual books and as full collections to aid researchers.
