"LAVER-MAGDALEN, a parish in the hundred of
ONGAR, county of ESSEX, 5¼ miles (N. W. by N.) from
Chipping-Ongar, containing 236 inhabitants. The living
is a rectory, in the archdeaconry of Essex, and diocese
of London, rated in the king's books at £16.12.1. The
Rev. J. W. Burford, D.D. was patron in 1794. The
