"BIX, (or Bixbrand), a parish in the hundred of Binfield, in the county of Oxford, 4 miles to the N.W. of Henley-upon-Thames, its post town. The living is a rectory in the diocese of Oxford, of the value of £487, in the patronage of the Earl of Macclesfield. The church is dedicated to St. James."

"BIXGIBWEN, (or Bix), a joint parish with Bixbrand in the hundred of Binfield, in the county of Oxford, but formerly a parish in its own right. The rectory is consolidated with that of Bixbrand. The church, long decayed, was dedicated to St. Michael."
