"KILLINNY, a parish in the barony of Kiltartan, county Galway, province of Connaught, Ireland, 6 miles W.N.W. of Gort, its post town. It is 4 miles long by 3 broad. The surface is extremely rocky, and consists chiefly of grazing lands. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Kilmore, value with Kilcolgan, £275, in the patronage of the bishop. Norman Grove is the chief seat. An ancient castle is observed."
